Hosts/hostesses

The project on hosts and hostesses in recreational businesses for Dutch National Parks, was officially released at Wednesday 30th of January 2008. This event took place in National Park De Hoge Veluwe.

In the Dutch National Parks, members of both RECRON (Dutch recreational foundation) and  Konkinklijke Horeca Nederland (Dutch umbrella organisation for catering services) will be provided with a course on being a host or hostess for their park. In addition, cooperation between National Parks and businesses will be encouraged.

In the National Parks Drents-Friese Wold and the National stream and esdorp Landscape Drentsche Aa, this concept of hosts and hostesses already proved to be successful. Current hosts and hostesses are enthousiastic about the cooperation, which is beneficial for both parties (both businesses and National Parks).   

A covenant on the cooperation has been signed by Dutch National Parks Foundation, IVN (Foundation for Environmental Education), Dutch umbrella organisation for catering services and RECRON.  

Dutch National Parks Foundation assigned IVN to design this project; they are also the leading organisation in the project. The others inform their members about the project.
